Granted, you’re less likely to use your central heating during the summer – this is obvious. However, this doesn’t mean that central heating cover can’t come in seriously handy during the summer months. And here’s why: you probably use your heating much more than you realise, even during the sunnier months.
Picture the scene: you’ve just returned from a hard day at work, or a sweaty run around the park or playing in a game of jumpers-for-goalposts football. What’s the first thing you want to do, after glugging down a bit glass of water? Jump in a bath or shower. While some people prefer to wash in cold water, for many people a warming and soothing blast of the wet stuff is all they need.
How about that morning wash you have before hitting the road to work? Even at the height of summer, mornings can be pretty cool, meaning a warm shower is the only option.
Then of course, there’s the unreliable nature of the British summer time. While the TV advertisers would like you to believe we’re in for a long hot summer of days on the beach, music festivals and back garden barbeques, the reality is often a little wide of the mark. In fact, it can be pretty cool – if not exactly freezing cold – some days during the winter.
There are other big plus points to having central heating cover – the main one being that it can save you serious money. When your central heating breaks down, getting a tradesman in can be expensive, especially if the source of the problem isn’t always crystal clear.
There’s no getting around it - you’ve got to make sure you get the right man for the job – easier said than done with so many cowboys out there. We’ve all seen those rogue trader TV shows where members of the public end up paying for shoddy work – or shelling out for jobs that are never completed.
With central heating cover in place, you can call out an emergency plumber – a fully qualified, trained and vetted tradesman – with no nasty bill to worry about at the end of the work and a guarantee that the job has been carried out properly. Considering the state of the average household’s finances at the moment, that’s a money-saver we could all do at the moment, especially given that the cost of living is expected to carry on rising.
